advice about alcoholic ex

My Ex is an alcoholic with 2 failed detoxs behind him. He picks up my one year old smelling very strongy of alcohol and shaking . He is never drunk, but must have been drunk the night before. Is there anyway i can have his alcohol limits tested each time he sees my baby? I am sure he must be over.

Sounds like you're not happy with this - why not just tell him he can't pick your baby up if he has been drinking the night before - it's not safe for your baby - there's no need to get his alcohol limits tested - just say no.
It's good for children to have both parents in their lives and difficult for your ex if he can't see his baby, especially if he is trying hard to get off the drink, so maybe you could try a child contact centre - see article for details http://theparentconnection.org.uk/articles/child-contact-centres or could you take your baby to his parents and he could visit there or even allow him to visit at your home if you are on reasonable terms?
