After Separation

Hello all,

I went to the 2nd contact session ( which was some 5 weeks after the the 1st one) to see my 2 daughters at the weekend.

My expectations were low as phone contact has dropped off for the same period due to them being manipulated and given access to information which they're not old enough to digest and assess.

It was a very difficult session on both sides and I felt so flat afterwards, the injustice, the need to defend yourself - akin to taking the witness stand and cross examined in the court of good parenting?!

It was starting to feel like...what's the point?? - not sure if that resonates with anyone else - but i've taken stock and realised that i need to stay on track and rely on the court process to form a fair and considered opinion of my 'fitness to practise' and some steps towards repairing the relationship.

I won't see the girls again now until after the court hearing in June, however I'm keeping on my path. I'm lucky to have a good support network.

I was impressed with what you've said in your update about sticking with it. I'm sorry it's so painful and clearly you recognise what it might be like for your girls as well. All the more reason for not giving up -I'm sure you know it would be devastating for them if you did.
