Me and my partner seek advice on how to deal with telling our children as they are friends and live on the same street ( we were neighbour got caught having an affair both left our partners 9 months ago) sounds very Jeremy Kyle but we are in love and want the best for our kids

    OK, so sounds like you are through the stage of your children learning that their parents are splitting up. How did that go? I can imagine there may still be issues between each of you and your exes that can impact on the kids. It's important that they know that you understand and support their continued love and attachment to each of you as their parent.
    Clearly there may be particular issues for you as a new couple as the children already know each other but I guess, fundamentally, you're in the same position as any new couple moving on from previous relationships and introducing your children to a new partner.
